Function Description:

The WJ69 remote I/O module is a versatile device that can be used for a variety of purposes. It is capable of measuring eight-channel encoder signals, and can also be set as a 16-channel independent counter or DI state measurement.

1. Signal Input

The module supports two types of signal input:

  • 8-channel encoder signal input
  • 16-channel independent counter

Both dry contact and wet contact inputs are supported. Please refer to the wiring diagram section for more information on how to properly connect these input types.

2. Communication Protocol

The WJ69 module supports two communication interfaces:

  • 1 standard RS-485 communication interface
  • 1 standard RS-232 communication interface (specified upon ordering and selection)

Two communication protocols are available:

  • The character protocol defined by the command set
  • The MODBUS RTU communication protocol

The module automatically recognizes the communication protocol and can be used for network communication with various brands of PLC, RTU, or computer monitoring systems.

Data format for communication is 10 bits with 1 start bit, 8 data bits, and 1 stop bit, with no verification.

The Encoder Counter Module provides the following features:

  • Decodes and converts the encoder signal into standard MODBUS RTU protocol
  • Can be used both as an encoder counter or speed measurement device
  • Supports 8 encoders to count simultaneously and can identify forward and reverse direction
  • Can also be set up as 16 independent DI high-speed counters
  • Automatically saves encoder count value after power loss
  • Isolated DI input and power supply provide protection up to 3000VDC
  • Allows clearing and setting of count value through RS-485/232 interface
  • Supports a wide power supply range from 8 to 32VDC
  • High reliability, and easy programming and application
  • Standard DIN35 rail installation for convenient centralized wiring
  • User-programmable module address, baud rate, and other parameters

Improved Communication Interface

The communication interface is equipped with several features that make it highly reliable even in harsh environments. For instance, it is designed with high anti-interference, which means that it can resist the effect of external electromagnetic disturbances.

In addition, it also has ±15KV ESD protection, which protects it from damage caused by electrostatic discharge. This means that it can withstand sudden voltage spikes that may occur during normal operation.

Anti-Interference

Moreover, there are transient suppression diodes inside the module, which can effectively suppress various surge pulses, protecting the module from potential damage. The digital filter also helps to suppress power frequency interference from the power grid, ensuring that the communication interface remains unaffected by external disturbances.

 

Applications:

The module address, baud rate, and other configurations can be programmed by the user.

The user has the capability to set or adjust key parameters within the module, such as the unique identifier and communication speed.

By providing the ability for the user to program these settings, the module can be customized to meet specific needs and improve overall performance.
